PRIVACY POLICY

Plan the hunt. Protect the hunter.

This policy explains what Card Route processes, why it is needed, and the choices available to you.Effective July 30, 2026

1. What Card Route processes

When you sign in, Card Route receives the email address and display name associated with your Sign in with ChatGPT session. We use them to maintain your account, subscription tier, progression, squads, notes, and community posts.

Route planning processes the starting location you enter or choose to share, selected stores, route preferences, and generated route details. Device-local identifiers and preferences may be stored in your browser. Saved routes may include their starting area and stops.

2. Location privacy

Browser location is requested only after you choose to use it. Starting coordinates are used to discover stores, calculate road travel times, and—on Premium routes—retrieve area-level population density. Card Route does not display your live location to other users.

Community sightings attach to a store’s coordinates. Do not include your home address, live location, employee names, or another person’s identifying details in a note or sighting.

3. Community and squad content

Public sightings and notes may be shown to nearby users with your display name. Squad-only notes are shown to members of the selected squad. Nearby sightings leave the active feed after 24 hours, but limited records may be retained for security, abuse prevention, dispute handling, and legal compliance.

4. Payments

Stripe processes payment-card and billing information. Card Route does not store full card numbers. We retain Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, billing status, and the information needed to apply or remove Premium access.

5. Service providers and data sources

Card Route uses hosting and storage infrastructure provided through OpenAI Sites and Cloudflare. Route requests may interact with OpenStreetMap and Overpass, OSRM, U.S. Census services, and the official Pokémon vending-machine service. Stripe supports checkout and subscription management. These providers process information under their own terms and privacy policies.

6. Retention and security

We retain account and subscription records while an account is active and as needed for financial, fraud-prevention, safety, and legal obligations. Community and route records are kept only as long as reasonably necessary for the features and purposes described here. No online service can guarantee absolute security.

7. Children

Card Route is a general-audience service for users age 13 and older. It is not intended for children under 13, and children under 13 may not create accounts, share location, or post community content. If we learn that an under-13 user supplied personal information, we will take steps to remove it.

8. Your choices

You may decline browser location access and search a general area instead. Browser preferences can be cleared through your device settings. Subscription and billing choices are available through the Stripe-hosted customer portal.

Launch contact

A dedicated privacy and support contact will be published before paid subscriptions open. Until then, do not submit sensitive information through community notes or sightings.
